Last Fall, Adriana Forest-Clarke and Justin Nasseri received leave on behalf of the Ontario Medical Association (“OMA”) to intervene in the upcoming Supreme Court of Canada case Hemmings et al. v. Padmore et al. This is a significant medical negligence case in which Adriana and Justin are making submissions on behalf of the OMA regarding legal causation in medical malpractice cases. A copy of Adriana’s and Justin’s factum is available here.
The OMA is a province-wide non-profit membership organization that represents the political, clinical, and economic interests of the medical profession in Ontario. The OMA represents close to 50,000 physicians spanning all stages of their career, from medical students to retirees, with a majority of them in active practice. It is an honour for our firm to represent the OMA.
The appeal will occur on February 10, 2026, at 9:30 am EST. You can find more information about the case, as well as a webcast link here.
