Jake Bershadsky

Jake is a litigator at Ross Nasseri. He is establishing a broad civil and regulatory practice focused on complex commercial disputes. He has acted on behalf of corporations, as well as directors and senior executives, in disputes concerning shareholder oppression, financial disclosure misrepresentation, and fraud. Jake acts, and has appeared in Divisional Court, on behalf of clients seeking to challenge statutory decisions made by public entities. He also has experience with bringing, and defending against, urgent injunctions, including freezing orders and Mareva injunctions. Jake has also developed expertise in acting for real estate developers in various civil and regulatory proceedings.

Before joining Ross Nasseri, Jake summered, articled and practiced as an associate at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg. During his time there he acted for a broad range of corporate and individual clients in complex commercial disputes across multiple practice areas including contractual disputes, class actions, tax and securities litigation.

Jake received his JD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2022, where he graduated with Distinction. Jake developed and honed his advocacy skills during his time as a Caseworker for Downtown Legal Services, where he represented clients before the Ontario Court of Justice. He also acted as co-president of the Business Law Society.

Prior to attending law school, Jake completed his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance at McGill University, where he was named to the Dean’s Honour List and graduated with the highest GPA in the Accounting faculty.

• Acted as counsel to several individual and corporate respondents in a multi-million dollar family dispute regarding ownership of corporate assets, including allegations of fraud and oppression
• Acting as counsel to a corporation relating to a complex post-closing accounting adjustment dispute 
• Acting as counsel to a leading real estate developer in managing purchaser defaults and regulatory proceedings
• Acting as counsel to defendant directors and executives relating to alleged public disclosure misrepresentations
• Acted as counsel to a party seeking to discharge a Mareva freezing order in the context of allegations of fraud
• Acted as counsel to applicants in several judicial review applications relating to real estate developments

• 1330 Gerard Inc. v Riverdale Immigrant Women Enterprises, 2025 ONSC 2451: Successfully obtained mandatory injunctive relief preventing damage to a commercial property
