Jake is a litigator at Ross Nasseri. He is establishing a broad civil and regulatory practice focused on complex commercial disputes. He has acted on behalf of corporations, as well as directors and senior executives, in disputes concerning shareholder oppression, financial disclosure misrepresentation, and fraud. Jake acts, and has appeared in Divisional Court, on behalf of clients seeking to challenge statutory decisions made by public entities. He also has experience with bringing, and defending against, urgent injunctions, including freezing orders and Mareva injunctions.
Before joining Ross Nasseri, Jake summered, articled and practiced as an associate at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg. During his time there he acted for a broad range of corporate and individual clients in complex commercial disputes across multiple practice areas including contractual disputes, class actions, tax and securities litigation.
Jake received his JD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2022, where he graduated with Distinction. Jake developed and honed his advocacy skills during his time as a Caseworker for Downtown Legal Services, where he represented clients before the Ontario Court of Justice. He also acted as co-president of the Business Law Society.
Prior to attending law school, Jake completed his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance at McGill University, where he was named to the Dean’s Honour List and graduated with the highest GPA in the Accounting faculty.
