Areas of Practice

Sophie Vaisman is an articling student with Ross Nasseri. Prior to completing her third year of law school Sophie joined Ross Nasseri as a summer student.

Sophie received her JD from the University of Ottawa in 2024. After her first year of law school, she worked for Community Legal Services Ottawa as a student caseworker, helping with Social Benefits Tribunal hearings and appeals. Throughout her time at law school, she worked for Reach, an organization that supplies legal information and referrals for individuals with disabilities. She was also the Reach Pro Bono student volunteer coordinator, conducting training sessions and providing support for newer students. Sophie developed her strengths in advocacy through her clinic work and honed those skills through her coursework.

Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in contemporary studies and political science at the University of King's College, in Halifax where she wrote her thesis on the flâneuse, and women who walk in cities.
