Ross Nasseri LLP’s Eric Brousseau recently spoke with the Lawyer’s Daily about regulatory restructuring proposed by the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA).

This restructuring, aimed at Self-Regulatory Organizations (SROs), proposes to combine oversight for mutual fund and investment dealers. The intended changes will make it easier for consumers to make investment decisions by easing some of the red-tape around securities options.

Regarding the matter, Brousseau told Lawyer’s Daily that “bringing them under one roof takes away that confusion, as well as all the red tape and bureaucracy to make regulation more streamlined as well.” He also suggests that appropriate oversight measures should be put in place to ensure that investment professionals can navigate the shifting array of options available on the market.
